Inside and out of sculptor John Evans’ Broad Street studio at the Gráficas Gallery are a mixture of three-dimensional and two-dimensional pieces made of wood and bronze, and some paintings influenced by his sculptures. Evans, who has been sculpting for over 40 years, transforms pieces of indigenous woods like walnut and maple into shapes he describes as “bent and twisted”– a departure from much of the work seen around the island.
